"Because worship is a way of life, you cannot worship corporately on the Lord's Day if you haven't been worshiping throughout the week-apart from repentance!" R. Kent Hughes

Preparation

To worship corporately, Christians must prepare themselves privately. This is called spiritual formation. The goal is to become overwhelmed with who God is and to surrender ourselves to be shaped by God's Word. This preparation includes reading the Word of God devotionally, praying in response to God's Word, confessing and repenting of sin, and by serving God through showing Christ's love to others.

Our Corporate Worship

"The object of our worship, God Himself, is unique in that He alone is to be worshiped; we, the worshipers, are not." D.A. Carson

When you come you find that our corporate worship is simple. Worship is a response to who God is. The quality of worship is determined by the nature of the worshiper's intimacy with God. In our service we use both contemporary music and hymns. The Scriptures are read and preached. On any given Sunday you may encounter various liturgical elements such as: responsive readings, antiphonal Psalms, recited prayers and creeds of the early church, celebrating the Lord's Supper, and baptisms. The goal of our worship is not to entertain or provide an emotional high but to bring people to the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ so they may submit themselves to Him. Therefore, be conformed into the image of Christ or otherwise known as spiritual formation.

What to Expect When You Walk In

When you first enter into our service, you will have been greeted. You will find people casually dressed and talking to one another. During the service we will not point you out, ask you to stand up, nor do anything that will call attention to anyone visiting us. We want you to feel as comfortable as you can and pray that the service will be a blessing to you.
